New college scholarship

Great News from Dr. C Bradley Thompson at the Clemson Institute for the Study of Capitalism. His announcement:

“Dear friends,

I am pleased to announce that the Clemson Institute for the Study of Capitalism has created and is today launching what I hope will be one of the most important academic programs in the history of American higher education.

The Lyceum Scholars Program will offer scholarships to incoming freshman worth up to $10,000 to study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society.

Each cohort of Lyceum Scholars will take one class together each semester over four years. The eight classes include “Wisdom of the Ancients,” “Political Thought of the American Founding,” “American Constitutional Law,” and “Political Theory of Capitalism.”

Lyceum courses will use a rigorous “Great Books” approach to education. Lyceum Scholars will also be assigned a “Socratic” tutor, who will challenge each student to think seriously and deeply about the nature of moral character.

If you know of any rising high school seniors who might be interested in this program, please encourage them to apply!
